From long ago, honey gathered in Latvia’s meadows and along forest edges has been highly valued—both here at home and far beyond our borders. Even today, beekeeping is held in great respect in Latvia; many households keep bees in their yard or garden. For most of these small-scale beekeepers, it isn’t about profit, but a true labor of love. It is care for nature, for the bees, and for preserving people’s chance to enjoy a real, living product.
That is why honey feels even more special today. In a world used to modernization and industrially produced food, we sometimes forget how precious it is to have something that comes directly from nature.
I founded SIA SVIEDE to increase the recognition of Latvian honey around the world and to remind both ourselves and others that Latvian honey is truly high quality.
It matters to me to remind people that nature is our greatest value—if only we know how to listen to it. Nature gives us so much, and every living organism within it, including bees, is an essential part of this balance.
Honey is one of nature’s most beautiful miracles—a golden treasure created by bees with patience and care. And I believe that often a person needs nothing more than real, quality honey: one spoonful that brings both strength and calm to everyday life.
