high quality honey from Latvia

Beekeeping in Latvia has a long tradition, the wild honey bee (Apis mellifera) was found in the territory of Latvia already around the 6th century BC. In prehistoric times, honey was a sweetener and a medicinal product for Latvians.Today, there are still many small and medium-sized farms in Latvia that produce honey by hand and without industrial additives.

Honey has always been more than just a food for Latvians, in the past, honey also had a symbolic meaning - a symbol of the source of life, the sun and blessing. Ancient Latvians said that "where there are bees, there is peace and blessing", honey was symbolized by harmony between man, nature and the gods.

Here are some questions you might have:

  • Why we don't filter our honey

We do not use industrial filters because honey contains pollen, wax particles, propolis, and enzymes that give it its healthful properties. When filtered, these substances are removed, and honey loses some of its vitamins, minerals, and biologically active substances.

  • Honey is analyzed to confirm its quality.

Before the honey is packaged in jars, it is sent for analysis to a laboratory in Germany - QSI GmbH. Honey is analyzed there for measurements such as pesticides, antibiotics, etc. It is important for us to know that the honey we package is truly pure and of high quality.

  • Honey of thousand flowers

Honey bees collect honey during the summer period, when most of the meadows in Latvia are in bloom. In our honey you will find honey from all the flowers in the meadow. Each flower is special with its own spirit and together all these flowers create the taste of our honey - honey from a thousand flowers
